At 10:32AM on January 14, 2018, dispatch alerted Engine 281 for a dwelling fire in Dundalk. Initial comments received were that a couch had caught fire in an end of group 2 story townhome. The fire quickly spread to the remaining portion of the house. The fire then began making headway to the adjacent units.

The 2nd and 3rd alarm assignments were quickly dispatched to have the needed equipment arrive to contain the fire. Engine 281 arrived initially at staging but was told to go straight to the fire ground. Engine 281’s crew assisted Engine 16’s crew with extinguishing fire in the basement of the primary home and then went to the 1st adjacent home to check for fire extension and perform overhaul.

After wrapping up overhaul, Engine 281’s crew assisted with clearing units from the scene. Engine 281 cleared at approximately 1:30PM.

As Engine 281 responded to this call, additional crews came down to the station to attend Engine 282. Engine 282 responded to two other calls during this period.
