It is with great sadness that we must announce that Rosedale's senior member, Rocco Gabriele Sr. passed away earlier today. Our prayers go out to the Gabriele family.

Rocky Sr. was an amazing man and an invaluable life member. Rocky was our oldest living member, having joined Rosedale as a cadet member an amazing 75 years ago. Rocky was a top responder who rode the medic unit as an ALS provider and was a fire suppression leader, including a tenure as Chief. After a career with the Maryland State Police, Rocky worked as the State Fire Marshal, helping Maryland move forward in fire safety.

You may have seen Rocky at a number of our fund raiser events. His family has a long history with the fire company as both sons, Rocky Jr. and Mark and Son-in Law Jack Mazza are life members of Rosedale VFC. Rocky's musically gifted daughter, Paula is a regular at our fund raising events.

Our firehouse is currently draped in black and also shown is a pic of young Rocky receiving one of his many awards.
